We are Scantily Glad Theatre: an emerging feminist and queer theatre company. Founded in 2014, our mandate is to create original, thought-provoking theatre that promotes the work of female/woman/femme and queer artists within our community. Our work is driven by taking risks, both in content and execution, and challenging both ourselves and our audience.
We have toured original work across North America. This past summer, we toured a triple bill, including SCUM: a manifesto (Orlando), and two brand-new shows: Girl in the Box (Montreal), a feminist true-crime horror about the first woman to be on the FBI’s Most Wanted List and Pack Animals, a queer vaudeville comedy.
This summer, we are on-tour with Pack Animals touring to Orlando, London, Ottawa, Toronto,
Winnipeg, & Edmonton, thanks to the support of Creative Saskatchewan.
Currently, we are developing a new solo-show, Something in the Water, to premiere at the Saskatoon Fringe Festival. The show is a examination of gender through comic books, monster movies and clown. The show was created with collaboration with the Lookout Arts Quarry and Deanna Fleysher through the support of the Saskatchewan Arts Board.
